2018-2019 7 Hr USPAP Update7(This 7 hr C. E. course was written by the Appraisal qualifications Board.) The AQB requires all Real Property Appraisers to take this non tested USAP course or its equivalent every other year. Remember you cannot take this course within 12 months and receive C E Credit. Also the 15 Hr USPAP may not be substituted for this course.
Residential Appraisal Review7This 7 hr C. E. course provides an overview of appraisal review and a discussion of applicable USPAP Rules, along with illustration of common errors and shortcomings commonly found by reviewers. STANDARD 3 is fully discussed along with applicable guidance offered by the Appraisal Standards Board. The course continues with an overview of the STANDARDS 1 and 2 appraisal development and reporting obligations. Finally, common mortgage industry appraisal and appraisal review forms are illustrated and discussed from a review perspective. Throughout, the course especially emphasizes best practices for a reviewer when developing opinions and conclusions regarding the quality of another appraiser’s work.
FannieMae Collateral Underwriter7Fannie Mae started the collateral underwriting program January 14, 2015. This course covers the latest Fannie Mae collateral underwriting requirements and other changes by the Georgia Real Estate Appraisers Board. Remember not all properties meet the Fannie Mae financing requirements.
FHA Appraisal Requirements7FHA has extended the start date to Sept. 14, 2015. This is a 7 Hr C. E. course, designed to help appraisers have a better understanding of what FHA requires the appraiser address in all appraisals with a case # issued after 06/15/2015. Attendees will receive a copy of the new requirements to review in class and to use as a reference manual later.
7 Hr FHA Property Analysis7This is a 7 Hr C. E. course, designed to help appraisers have a better understanding of what FHA requires the appraiser address in all appraisals. Attendees will receive a copy of the new requirements to review in class and to use as a reference manual later.
Supervising the Trainee Appraiser4A 4 hr untested courses that both the supervisor and trainee appraiser must have tattended before experience credit can be earned after January 1 2015. This course can also be used as continuing education credit toward renewal.
UAD3A 3 hr continuing education course that covers the latest Fannie Mae requirements for the Uniform Appraisal Dataset Specifications. This course when combined with the Supervising the Trainee Appraiser will total 7 hrs of C E credit toward renewal.
Defensible Appraisal Practices7Defensible Appraisal Practices is an all-encompassing course designed to provide a comprehensive look at best practices for appraisers in order to recognize and meet those expectations. The course commences with discussion of various avenues which could cause liability concerns for appraisers, including the appraisal review process. Common areas of deficiencies and inadequacies in the appraisal process are also discussed.
Better Safe Than Sorry7In recent years, the appraisal industry has come under scrutiny. The financial crisis of 2008 and the housing-bubble-burst led to industry changes and reforms, including the Home Valuation Code of Conduct (HVCC), the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, and the Uniform Appraisal Dataset (UAD). How did these changes affect appraisers, reviewers and the industry as a whole? Were they welcome? Were they effective? Better Safe Than Sorry will explore those questions as well as delve into the role of the reviewer, the obligations of the appraiser, relevant USPAP regulations, common errors appraisers can avoid, and the importance of structured report writing.
